Dr. Patel has extensive clinical expertise in a wide variety of spinal disorders,
including problems of the neck and back at every level. He completed his undergraduate
and medical school training in Northeast Ohio as part of a combined Medical Scholars
Program for accelerated students with an early commitment to medical training. He
then completed his physiatry training at the Baylor College of Medicine and The
Institute for Rehabilitation and Research at the Texas Medical Center. He further
developed his expertise by completing a sub-specialty fellowship focusing on Interventional
Spine at the Penn Spine Center of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania
in Philadelphia, PA under the direction of Curtis W. Slipman M.D. Dr. Patel
has authored numerous research papers, review articles and book chapters on topics
encompassing a wide variety of spinal disorders from interventional procedures to
sacroiliac joint syndrome to disc disease. Dr. Patel is an active member of the
International Spine Injection Society, North American Spine Society, and American
Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Patel takes care of patients
of with a wide variety of spinal disorders, including severe degenerative disc disease,
nerve impingement (sciatica or radiculopathy), herniated discs, spondylolisthesis
and spinal stenosis.
