Dr. Patel was chosen by Stryker Biotech as one of only six Principle Investigators for a clinical trial on the infusion of osteogenic protein 1 (OP-1, BMP-7) in the symptomatic single-level degenerated lumbar intervertebral disc. Recruitment of patients for this phase 1 safety trial is underway.
The Spine Journal named Dr. Rechtine its 2006 Reviewer of the Year.
The American Spinal Injury Association, whose membership is composed of physicians, researchers, allied health professionals, and interested advocates specifically involved in spinal cord injury management, elected Dr. Rechtine its fourteenth president. He has served the Association as a director since 2005 and will assume his new post in May.
The Spine Center welcomed an additional Physician Assistant to aid in the care of our patients in August. Mr. William Gruhn RT (R), RPA-C received a Bachelor's degree in Physician Assistant studies from D'Youville College in Buffalo, NY. He is also trained in general orthopaedics, having previously worked at Highland Hospital in Rochester, NY. He is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. In addition to a certification as a Physician Assistant, he is also a registered Radiologic Technologist. Mr. Gruhn provides additional care to Dr. Molinari’s patients. |
