Every patient referred to the University of Rochester Spine Center will undergo an initial consultation with one of our spine specialists. During this initial visit, a history and physical exam will be performed and x-rays, MRIs and other studies reviewed. The
diagnosis or list of possible diagnoses will be reviewed with the patient.
Further studies may be ordered and/or treatments may be recommended based on this initial evaluation. Our spine specialists are experts at the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of spinal conditions, the most common of which include the following:

Radiculopathy (sciatica or pinched nerve)

Herniated Disc (bulging, protruding or ruptured disc)

Spinal Stenosis (narrowing of the spinal canal
